'Bokashi' Leaf Compost

In the Autumn, fallen leaves can be collected and made into a kind of leaf compost.
The same procedure ensures that the nutritional elements that are still in the leaves can efficiently be made into fertilizer for the soil.

A mixture of Edasil clay minerals, Ostrea seashell lime and EM-Active can be used to ferment leaf wastage.
The mixed material must have a moisture level of at least thirty percent in order to reach a satisfactory fermentation process.
When all the materials have been mixed together, cover them with a plastic cover or seal in black plastic bags with the air expelled.
Leave this to rest for at least six weeks (longer is better) in order to complete the fermentation process.

Requirements: For 100 Kgms of leaf waste.

Edasil clay minerals5% in weight - 5 Kg
Ostrea seashell lime5% in weight - 5Kg
EM-Active2% in weight - 2 litres

The fermented product can be used as a covering layer between plant borders.
